THE WORLD OF SIMULATION - A STEP AHEAD IN TECHNOLOGY

NPTI has been making consistent attempts to improve training methodologies for the betterment of plant operation standards. NPTI  was the  first and foremost Institute in India to realise the tremendous impact of Power Plant Off-Job, Hands-On, Operation Training through Full Scope Digital, Real-Time Training Simulators and commissioned a Fossil Fuel Fired 210 MW Simulator  as early as 1983 in NPTI (NR),  New Delhi.

NPTI has also established two more High-quality, High-fidelity Full Scope Hi-Tech Real-Time Simulators. These Simulators are capable of Training Shift Charge Engineers/Unit Controllers/Operators in both the `Conventional Panel' and `CRT Keyboard' (Video Process/DDC) Modes of Unit Operation catering to the futuristic demands of Operational expertise.

More than 250 emergency situations have been captured in an integrated plant process operation scenario. Engineers can experience a full range of operations together with stress situations to become better troubleshooters where it matters the most.

210 MW & 500 MW Dual Facility Training Simulators at NPTI WR, Nagpur and NPTI, Corporate Office, Faridabad

Oval: As per the study conducted by EPRI, USA assessing the benefits of Simulator Training in terms of Availability, Performance, Component Life and Environment Compliance savings, averages to Rs. 2.00 Lakh per year. In the Indian context for nearly 70,000 MW of Thermal Power, the annual savings would be Rs. 1400 Crores, presuming that the Operation Scenario of Thermal Power Plants is as good as US.
